ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Accent Verticals was a proud participant of ABC's hit television program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the inspirational story of "Cancer Warrior" Jenessa Byers in 2007. Before seven-year old Jenessa was diagnosed with pediatric cancer in 2006, the Byers had dreams of renovating their home. But as soon as the cancer appeared, the renovations became the least of their worries. An outdated and dirty heating system only heated a part of the home, and the wiring was exposed throughout the house, making it dangerous for the children to be around. In addition, mold and toxins caused health concerns to both Jenessa and her brother, 13-year-old Joey, who suffers from severe asthma. Accent Verticals was tapped, along with other contractors and hundreds of volunteers, for the first Extreme Makover project in Oregon and work was completed on the Corvallis home in July 2007. The Byers now have a bright, clean, and green-friendly home to enjoy. This episode first aired Oct. 7, 2007.
